Policy is a critical component of results management and the IRBM system. Policies are mandatory and require careful planning, analysis, and reporting. However, policy management is typically a major challenge in most countries. There is minimal policy management strategies and methods in place and this often results in poor policy management. The IRBM system and the PReMaS application provides a systematic and scientific way to deal with policies in all aspects from policy formulation, data management, analysis, assessment, adjustments, and performance. Any good program must address the policy environment and the policy mandates imposed on/relevant to the program. There are substantial financial and outcome implications for all policies and if they are not systematically structured and analysed, the policy is rendered ineffective and assessing the policy outcomes are extremely difficult and unreliable..
